Jim Jones Leaves Columbia For E1

im Jones has left Columbia Records to rejoin E1, formerly known as Koch Records.

According to XXLMag.com, the Dipset Capo has signed a deal to release his next solo album on E1, as well as a mixtape.

During his tenure at Columbia, Jones released his fourth solo album, Pray IV Reign. At E1, he released the the albums On My Way to Church, Harlem: Diary of a Summer and Hustler’s P.O.M.E. (Product of My Environment).

In addition to his successful run at E1 as a solo artist, Jones was appointed as vice president of urban A&R at the label last January.

As of now, Jim Jones has yet to provide a reason for his leaving the label switch. More on the story as it develops.

Jadakiss Says Diddy Offered L.O.X. One Album Deal

Speaking with Philadelphia’s Power 99FM, Jadakiss [click to read] recently gave light to the possibility of the forthcoming L.O.X. album, the group’s third album, but first since 1998, that would be released by Diddy on the mogul’s Bad Boy label. ‘Kiss said that “[Diddy] put an offer out there for a one album deal.”

This would be the first L.O.X. album to feature the Bad Boy name since the group’s debut over a decade ago. Jadakiss has attributed a lack of industry savy on the L.O.X. part as one of the reasons for the split but acknowledges, “We learned a lot from [Diddy].” Jadakiss also believes this possible reconciliation “shows maturity as artists, it shows respect as men” and that “if we all make dollars thenit can all make sense.” As of right now no deal has been finalized as the Yonkers group continues to put the finishing touches on the new album.

In the last decade, the L.O.X. have operated under the moniker D-Block [click to read], with an assortment of other members assisting the core three. They have released albums through Koch.

Last week, Diddy freed fellow ’90s Bad Boy rapper Mase from the famed label, after years of hold-ups.

T-Pain recently arrived at an event driving a hearse and blasting Jay-Z’s “Death Of Autotune” single. The Grammy Award Winning singer held a “funeral” during the album release party for DJ Khaled this week. Pain stood around his car rocking out for all the photographers, video cameras, bloggers and other media outlets then walked to the back of the hearse and pulled out a coffin with a skeleton dressed in jeans and a white t-shirt inside wearing his infamous “Big Ass Chain.” After parking, T-Pain walked down the red carpet and entered the club. In related news, Lil Wayne was recently interviewed backstage by Europes top DJ, Tim Westwood. NEW YORK – A law enforcement official says the celebrity disc jockey known as DJ AM has been found dead in a New York City apartment.

The official tells The Associated Press that 36-year-old Adam Goldstein was found in the Manhattan apartment this evening. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because family hadn’t been notified.

The death comes a year after Goldstein survived a plane crash that killed four other people in South Carolina.

Goldstein was a deejay for hire who performed at Hollywood’s most exclusive parties. He was also known for relationships with Nicole Richie and Mandy Moore.

Shyne 90 Percent Of The Way Home

Shyne, the long-time incarcerated Bad Boy rapper, reported to court yesterday (August 5th) for his parole hearing and was granted a two-and-a-half year post-release supervision ruling after he leaves prison this fall. A Manhattan judge signed the order making it official granting Shyne the parole after his arrest stemming from his 2001 conviction.

Shyne’s lawyer Oscar Michelin confirmed the news saying that the order marked one of the last remaining hurdles in the way of his client’s release from prison in October. “He’s about 90 percent of the way home now,” Michelin said.
